On Tuesday August 13, we will tour the Transbay Transit Center construction site in San Francisco. The tour will begin at 4PM with a brief introductory presentation and safety briefing at the offices of Arup, 560 Mission Street, San Francisco. The tour will consist of a walk along the lip of the excavation, and a trip down into the excavation (weather and construction activities permitting), where you will be able to peer up at 4 levels of excavation bracing, and the San Francisco skyline above. The entire presentation and tour will last about 1.5 hours.
This field trip is limited to 30 people. At this time, there a few more spots are available, and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Join now!
Everyone will need to have the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, safety vest, glasses or eye protection, steel toed boots or very sturdy hiking boots (dress boots or casual boots are not allowed on site), full length pants, shirt covering the shoulders.
