ABOUT THE SHOW
All who audition must be familiar with the stage play. This production is not the For Colored Girl’s movie version.
Remember, character interpretations from the movie are not the same as the Broadway show.
A poetic, emotionally charged choreopoem, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow is Enuf weaves together the voices of seven Black women—each identified only by a color. Through a blend of dance, music, and powerful spoken word, these women share stories of pain, passion, sisterhood, trauma, and triumph. This production will be set in a stylized 'Night at the Museum' setting where the women step in and out of life-size picture frames to share their truths, guided by the heartbeat of an African female drummer.
