CSA Volunteer

The California Sociological Association conference is Nov 3-4, 2023 at the Sacramento Holiday Inn (downtown Arena). We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help with tech support (including the important job of seting up a/v equipment) and to help staff the registration table.

We need 5 people to help with tech support of setting up th A/V equipment at 8am on Friday and 5 people to help with A/V setup at 8am on Saturday. We also need 5 people to help with tear down of the equipment, the time slots are split between 445-5 and 5-530pm each day.

The setup/technology includes setup or teardown of projectors, screens and cords.

The registration desk volunteer will be sitting at the registration desk and will be tasked with helping day-of registration, answering questions about the conference, and handing out the name badges.

Feel free to place your name in more than one slot, as having a smaller number of volunteers to fill these slots will make life easier on us. Most importantly, please make sure you are available for each slot you choose. In other words, when you place your name on this sheet, we are counting on you. If you are so inclined, its fine to signup for the registration desk and tech support at the same day/time.

At the start of the time you chose on the signup sheet, if you don't have other instructions, please go to the hotel Lobby and find the CSA registration desk and ask for me -- Tim Kubal (CSA Executive Director), and I will give you updated instructions. Also, when the system asks for your email address, make sure you enter your academic email address that you are actively checking, because I may be contacting you via email before and during the conference.
