Little Shop of Horrors Auditions: Thursday, December 14th.
The Beverly Arts Center announces auditions for its professional non-equity production of Little Shop of Horrors directed by Scott Sowinski and music directed by Jeff Otto. Auditions will take place December 10th from 5pm-10:30pm and December 14th from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Call backs will take place December 14th from 8:30pm- 10:30pm (as needed). AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Please come prepared with 32 bars of a song from the show or in style of the show. Have a contrasting song ready if asked. Please bring your headshot, resume, and appropriate sheet music for the accompanist. No recordings. Video submissions can be submitted to emilyn@beverlyartcenter.org. If you are unable to grab a timed slot we will see walk ups as we are able and do our best to see everyone.
TIME COMMITMENT
First rehearsal will be December 19th. There will be rehearsal on the 19th and 21st and then resume January 2nd. Rehearsals may be added between December 21st and January 2nd once casting and schedules are determined. Keep in mind this is a very short rehearsal process. Rehearsal on the 19th will be all music. Staging will take place the 21st. All this is tentative based on casting and availability.
Tentative rehearsal days will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 6pm-10pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm.
Tech commitment will be February 4th-7th.
Performances- Feb 8, 9, (7:30 PM ) 10th and 11th (2:00 PM) Feb 15 and 16 (7:30 PM) 18th ( 2:00 PM)
All actors will receive a stipend for this production. Stipend amounts may differ based on the time commitment of each role.
All Characters must show comedic and dramatic ranges. Although this piece is a musical, the comedy and camp is driven through honest acting and intention. The Beverly Arts Center is committed to diversity in all facets of this production. Age ranges and descriptions are fluid.
Seymour Krelborn
Passionate. Prone to manipulation but well intended. Awkward and insecure.

A narcissist with an egotistical desire to be liked and appreciated.
A mix of sex appeal and sleaziness.
A strong character actor (will also play additional featured roles – Bum, Customer, Bernstein, Mrs. Luce, Agent, & Patrick Martin)

The Plant (Audrey II)
Puppet. An anthropomorphic cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado, the plant has an appetite for human flesh that is appeased by Seymour. Puppeteer doubles as other sizes of the plant. Interested party should contact emilyn@beverlyartcenter.org directly.
