Husky Health Bridge: Tent City 3 @ University of Washington
EVENT DETAILS:
Husky Health Bridge relief events are a collaborative effort with Medical Teams International (MTI), Greater Seattle Cares (GSC), AmeriCorps, and the UW School of Dentistry. UW dental students will provide dental treatment to individuals experiencing homelessness at Tent City 3 (TC3) during their stay on campus. TC3 is a city and UW sanctioned community consisting primarily of adult residents, some of which have young children.
Providers will have access to two chairs on board an MTI mobile dental van and a three chair mobile clinic indoors at the Fishery Sciences Building (FSH). Patients will receive day-of, on-sight triage and supervised oral exams and dental procedures, including cleanings, restorations, and extractions.
This is a collaborative effort. Dental students of all stages are encouraged to get involved and contribute at their training level. Pre-dental students are needed for logistics and will have opportunities to observe in treatment areas.
